Ignition System Tune Up

The ignition system in your car is made up of the following components:

• Spark plugs
• Plug wires
• Coils
• Ignition control module

(The ignition key is not part of this system)

These components control spark and spark timing that ignite the fuel in the combustion chamber at the correct time. Generally, the maintenance tune up is performed every 60,000-100,000 miles.

Computerized Engine Controls

Computerized engine controls are the components in your vehicle that affect performance, economy and fuel. The sensors communicate with the CPU (central processing unit) that controls the efficiency at which your engine runs. If you are experiencing lower fuel economy or poor engine performance, Keith’s Car Care can help.

Automotive Charging Systems

The charging system in your vehicle is composed of three parts: the car battery, the alternator and the starter. All three must be in working order for the vehicle to start and run properly. It is a common misconception that the “battery” light on the dashboard only represents a failing battery. This is not the case. The light represents the complete charging system, not just one element.

At Keith’s Car Care, we can perform a an automotive charging systems test to confirm that all components are working properly or which part has failed. Then, we can give you an estimate of what the repairs will cost. There is no need to replace all three parts at the same time if they haven’t failed at the same time.

 Auto Lighting

Most people don’t inspect the lamps in their vehicle because they are usually riding inside the car, and not thinking about the outside of the vehicle. At Keith’s Car Care, our service inspection includes testing of all lamps, including:

  • Turn signals
  • Brake lights
  • Reverse lights
  • Headlights and others.

It is important to SEE and BE SEEN on the road to avoid accidents and tickets. LED lights are more commonly used in vehicles today- they look cool, don’t they? However, many consumers do not realize that many of the LED’s are integrated into another part (like a side mirror) or that individual LED bulbs cannot be replaced, it is usually a whole unit. Therefore, replacement of LED lights is usually very costly and it is common to need to order those parts.

“You always take great care of my car and you call a few days later to make sure every this is working good. and if there is a problem I know I can call and you will take care of it right a way. Thank You!”
