Fuel Saving Tips

Fuel Saving Tips

With today’s high gas prices, it is important to have regular maintenance services performed on your vehicle so that you can achieve optimum fuel mileage.

  • Check tires frequently for excessive wear and keep the tires inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended specification
  • If you notice a pull or vibration while driving, have an alignment performed on your vehicle and check for any tire damage (nail, screw etc)
  • Use the thinnest viscosity oil that your car’s manufacturer recommends
  • Keep your engine in proper mechanical condition
  • Keep your engine in tune and make sure the air and fuel filters are clean and changed regularly
  • Confirm that your brakes are not squeaking or dragging
  • Repair body damage.  A damaged fender will add aerodynamic drag and lessen your gas mileage
  • Don’t use premium grade fuel unless recommended by the manufacturer
  • “As seen on tv” products do not guarantee gas mileage savings.  Instead, save money by not buying those products
  • Check your gas cap to make sure it is not loose, damaged or missing and replace as needed
